PENINSULA LINK TRAFFIC UPDATE

Changes to traffic conditions scheduled as part of the Peninsula Link Project as at 4:55pm, Friday, 18 May 2012. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy of information presented in this update, the timing of the activities outlined is subject to change.

This week's traffic changes

EastLink (Inbound): (Melway Ref: 99J2-98D11)    

Monday, 21 May 2012, 10am-4pm

• Speed reduction to 60km/h
• Right hand lane closure in the inbound carriagewy of EastLink at the Peninsula Link bridge to allow temorary walkways to be removed from the bridge structure.
• The lane closure will be extended, and a chicane added, to allow modifications to signs and temporary barriers.

Mornington Peninsula Fwy, Carrum Downs: (Melway Ref 93 K12)   

Monday, 21 May 2012, 9:30am-3:30pm

• Speed reduction to 60km/h
• Left hand lane closure in the outbound carriageway to enable installation of wire rope safety barriers.

Lathams Road, Carrum Downs: (Melway Ref: 99 K2 - 100 B2)    

Saturday, 19 May 2012, 7am-3pm

• Short term stoppages of traffic to assist trucks entering and exiting from the site. 

Frankston-Dandenong Road, Carrum Downs: (Melway Ref: 100 B5)

• Single lane closure in the southbound carriageway to enable various civil works adjacent to the road median.

• Short term stoppages of traffic to assist trucks entering and exiting from the site.

• Single lane closure in the westbound carriageway to enable kerb works and removal of gawk screens.

Cranbourne Road, Frankston (Westbound Switch): (Melway ref: 103 C5-E5)   

NIGHTWORKS

Sunday, 20 May to Monday, 21 May 2012 7pm-4am each night

• Speed reduction and single lane closures in the Eastbound and Westbound carriageway to enable tie-in works to be completed; asphalting, barrier movements, linemarking.
• At the end of this shift the bridge will be opened to traffic in both directions.
• Monday night being a Contingency night.

• Right hand lane closure in both carriageways to allow asphalting works to be completed in preparation for switching westbound traffic onto the bridge in the evening.

NIGHTWORKS

• Full closure of Mornington-Tyabb Road between Stunpy Gully Road and Derril Road with traffic being diverted via Bungower Road, Loders Road and Moorooduc Hwy to allow final tie-in works of the new Mornington-Tyabb bridge onto the existing road.
